Ice-Cold Facts

The Val Senales Glacier (Hochjochferner) extends between South Tyrol's Val Senales and Austria's Venter Valley in the Ötztal Alps. With an area of 185 hectares and a length of over 3 km, about one-sixth of the glacier is a ski area. While glacier researchers observe a retreat of the ice, its retreat is less severe than other glaciers in the Central Alps.
